As winter approaches, it's important to show consideration for our neighbors and the county plow drivers who work diligently to clear snow, ensuring the roads and sidewalks remain safe during hazardous weather. Here are a few reminders for snow removal:
Whenever possible, park in driveways. If street parking is necessary, do so in a way that doesn't obstruct the plow drivers.
When clearing your driveway or car before the plow arrives, place the snow on the side of the road where the plow travels away from, beyond the area you've already shoveled, to prevent the plow from pushing snow back into your cleared space.
After the roads have been plowed and you're digging out your driveway and cars, refrain from throwing snow back onto the road. Instead, place it on the county strip between the sidewalk and curb to prevent the road from refreezing and becoming hazardous for others.
Do not blow snow into the street when clearing your side walks place place it in the county strip or on the front yard were possible.
Please keep these few things in mind this winter if it snows.
